The experience

The best experience is the one that lets you stay in the day.

I prepare properly, give direction when it helps and step back when it does not. The camera should work around the wedding, not the other way around.

Why it works

Twenty years of experience, used quietly.

I have spent more than twenty years working across photography, filmmaking, creative direction and production. That has taught me how to read light quickly, anticipate what is about to happen and make decisions when there is no chance for a second take.

On a wedding day, none of that should make things feel bigger or more complicated. It should do the opposite. I know the plan, I stay ready and you get to be present with the people you chose to spend the day with.

How it works

A little structure before the day. Less to think about during it.

01First conversationStart with the day, not the package.+

Send me the date, venue and a little about the two of you. I will check availability and we can talk properly about what you are planning, what matters most and which kind of coverage genuinely fits it.

02Before the weddingEnough planning to make the day feel easy.+

We work through the shape of the day, the people who matter, the timings and anything you particularly want remembered. I prepare around that information so you are not spending the wedding answering production questions.

03The weddingClose enough to see it. Light enough not to change it.+

I will step in for the photographs that need a little help and stay out of the way when the moment already has everything it needs. There is no formula for that balance. It comes from paying attention to the room rather than following a shot list all day.

04The editThis is where the day becomes something you can return to.+

The photographs are edited as one body of work. The films are shaped around the voices, rhythm and atmosphere that made your day particular. I am not trying to make every wedding look identical; I am trying to make the finished work feel recognisably yours.

05Back to youDelivered simply. Made to be kept.+

Your finished photographs and films are delivered privately and ready to share. The process ends with the work in your hands, not another list of decisions to make afterwards.

Before the day

The practical questions matter too.

You should know what it feels like to work together before you book. These are the things I am asked most often.

We are not comfortable in front of a camera. Is that a problem?+

Not at all. Most people are not. I keep direction simple and useful, and I do not expect you to perform a version of yourselves for the camera. The aim is to make strong photographs while keeping you connected to the day.

Do you pose people?+

When a photograph benefits from direction, yes. I would rather help for thirty seconds than pretend every image has to be completely candid. The important part is knowing when to direct and when the better moment is already happening on its own.

Can we book photography and film together?+

Yes. It is the most joined-up way to work if you want both. There is one conversation beforehand, one plan and a shared visual approach on the day.

How far do you travel?+

I am based around Cheltenham and the Cotswolds and work throughout the UK and abroad. Travel is agreed clearly before booking so there are no surprises later.

How does Super 8 fit in?+

Super 8 is genuine analogue film shot alongside the digital coverage. I use it selectively for texture, movement and a different sense of memory, then weave it into the finished film rather than treating it as a filter over everything.
